The Mission - Issue 2

Reading "The Mission" issue 2 was like biting into a perfectly prepared rare Kudu fillet off the Braai (Barbeque for all you International readers) To say I’ve been hanging to get my grubby little mits on the latest installment ever since I picked up Issue 1… an understatement!! An elation very much a kin to the feeling I get when a fish grabs my fly.

Again I’ll repeat what I’ve already said before…….I’m proud to say, someone has eventually got it right and is showcasing the fly fishing scene here in Southern Africa in all its glory. Filled with down to earth articles written by, and about people who are truly passionate about the sport. I thoroughly enjoyed Jannie Visser’s article on Spotted Grunter which I can honestly say has become the bane of my existence down in Durban harbour over the last couple of years. Leonard Flemming’s Urban pursuit of fresh water bonefish (Carp) also ties in nicely with a great read on Jako Lucas a South African guide flying the flag high for us around the globe and a nice piece on Trevor Sithole who I’ve had the pleasure of fishing with a number of times on his local patch.

For all you fly addicts in far flung places, it’s available to subscribe and read through digital format. Just Click the cover image at the top to read the mag
